Ring Out The Old | Looking Beyond to 2021

2020! What a year of fire & fury it's been.

Our holidays too are looking quite a bit different this year. Ambitious travels, big gatherings with family and friends and so many of the traditions that we hold dear, are temporarily on hold.

No one has gone through this year unscathed. For those of us who have been lucky, we are profoundly grateful for this time with our families, huddled together in our bubble. Never again will we perhaps be as together, as connected, as we have been this year.

2020 has been many things; a year of change, of reflection, of loss and also of possibilities.

If it were not for these last months, when all our Weave A Thousand Journeys tours were postponed as the travel industry was brought to a grinding halt, I would have never been able to work for months on the new website. Sorting through over 500 recipes and thousands of old pics at a time, often oscillating between chuckling and cringing at the words I have written over the last 12 years, has been quite an experience.

Both Weave A Thousand - Flavors and Journeys are so closely linked. The knowledge, culture and the recipes that I am so lucky to experience with our Journeys, I bring to the recipes at Flavors and into the classes I teach.

After all these months, Weave A Thousand Flavors is all dusted, dressed and ready to be presented to you. It is and will always be a work in progress though, forever fluid, never stagnant.

I hope that with each week, as a new recipe awaits you in your Inbox, it adds a little bit of joy, magic and anticipation to your day. Something to look forward, something delicious to dream about, to cook for ourselves for now and one day for all our family and friends who will join us at our dinner table once again.

There's so much to look forward to as we close out 2020: Vaccines are here, a chance to rest and recharge, the opportunity to learn from our experiences and improve going forward.

For now, let's take some time to be grateful for what we have, reflect on what we leave behind and be ready to embrace the new tomorrow. I'm confident that the coming year is going to be a year of breakthroughs and new beginnings for us all.

Please take a moment to subscribe on the new and improved, WEAVE A THOUSAND FLAVORS so you never miss a bite!

Here's wishing you and your loved ones, warm hearts, full bellies, kinship and happy travels in 2021!

warmly,

Devaki
